Kingston School of Art are seeking to appoint a Theatre Technician to join our faculty technical team. This post will provide a high quality multi skilled approach to the technical services at Kingston University, supporting teaching, research and enterprise within the Technical Production facilities.
The role
You will be responsible for delivering fit-for-purpose technical support across theatrical facilities. This will include the day-to-day management, operation and maintenance of the facilities and equipment, and supporting students in the use of industry related equipment and software packages. You will have ability to provide practical demonstrations for a range of skill levels, giving advice and support on all aspects of technical theatre, on a one-to-one basis and through the delivery of group demonstrations.
About you
We are seeking a highly motivated individual who has experience in the field of technical theatre. You will assist in all aspects of lighting, sound, projection, stage management, scenic construction and front of house operations for university and visiting productions both within the University and at external venues. This will include supporting the new cutting-edge Studio Theatre in the University’s flagship building the Town House.
You will have a positive and proactive approach to your work and form productive working relationships with technical staff in the Technical Production workshop, the faculty and more widely across the university.
