We are looking for one Graduate to join Kuehne+Nagel on our Air Logistics Graduate Programme in September 2022.
Are you able to think on your feet, calm under pressure, and a great communicator? Then this could be the Graduate Programme for you.
The programme is two years long, with three business placements, and you'll gain a professional qualification along the way.
About the programme
Have you ever been jetting off on holiday and thought about all the cargo being transported beneath your feet? Our Air Logistics team are there behind the scenes, moving everything from vaccines to aeroplane parts. You'll contribute to the delivery of airfreight services for customers across the world, which will involve huge amounts of customer and supplier interaction, both face-to-face and on the phone.
Our placements are flexible depending on the guidance of your graduate mentor and the needs of the business, but the scheme looks like:
- Operational and Customer Care - Heathrow or Manchester (8 months)
- Specialism 1 (one of: Revenue Care, Products, Warehouse/Transport/Gateway, Processes and Systems, Commercial) - location dependent on specialism (8 months)
- Specialism 2 (one of: Revenue Care, Products, Warehouse/Transport/Gateway, Processes and Systems, Commercial) - location dependent on specialism (8 months)
You will start in the Operational Care Centre to learn the basics of moving airfreight as well as using our systems. You will gain an understanding of how KN as a logistics expert provides internal customer service, movement of goods worldwide, networking and all documentation requirements.
After 4 months you will move into the local Customer Care team to learn how to provide excellent customer service, customer solutions for moving goods worldwide, and build relationships with customers.
Your second and third placements will be specialisms, agreed as part of a conversation with your Programme Lead and your mentor. Location will depend on the specialism, and we ask that all our graduates are flexible in moving to new places.
Revenue Care Centre
In the Revenue Care Centre, you will learn all about the financial setups including invoicing our customers, analysing GP, supplier invoice acknowledgement and supporting month end closing. You will gain an understanding of how KN provides accurate and timely invoicing to our customers, including detailed root cause analysis and continuous improvement.
Product
Within the Product placement you will gain an understanding of specific products within KNUK Air Logistics, and how this product is marketed. Focus will depend on location and could include: Pharma & Healthcare, Aerospace & Defence, Military & Government, Perishables.
Transport, Warehouse and Gateway
In Transport, Warehouse and Gateway you will gain an understanding of how our physical network is structured and focused to achieve consistently excellent service for our customers at the lowest operating cost. You will work "hands on" with Transport, Warehouse & Gateway to gain an understanding of how the physical process works and our mission for service excellence.
Systems and Processes
Systems and Processes will help you understand systems within the UK organisation including new releases, process mapping, digitalisation and automation.
Commercial
The commercial placement will allow you to spend more time with our customers. That can be in a variety of options such as Pricing, supporting our Leverage Areas or implementing new business to allow every customer a smooth onboarding with KN.
Development
We will engage with you during your programme to discuss the different routes available, and where your strengths are well suited. Your progression will be led by business demand, the area you have specialised in and the skills and competencies you have developed. Typical roles immediately after the programme include Process Improvement Engineer, eTouch Specialist, Team Leader, Project or Excellence Manager.

If you are the type of person who is able to think on their feet, calm under pressure, and confident dealing with customers, both over the phone and face to face, you will thrive on this programme. - You must be able to relocate for placements
- A full UK driving licence (or will have one by September 2022)
