We are looking for one graduate to join Kuehne+Nagel on our HR Graduate Programme in September 2022. Are you ambitious and great at building relationships? Then this could be the Graduate Programme for you.
The programme is two years long, with three business placements, and you'll gain your CIPD qualification along the way.
About the programme
At KNUK, HR isn't just about hiring and firing - we're business partners. The HR Graduate Programme will give you hands on experience with multiple aspects of HR, ranging from specialist areas to more traditional HR roles.
Our HR Graduates are an asset to the team, taking on a variety of interesting projects and interacting with people all over the business.
Placements vary depending on what your Programme Lead and Mentor decide is best for your development and most valuable, but the programme will follow a basic plan of 3 8-month placements designed to give you an insight into employee relations, HR Business Partnering, service delivery, and other specialisms.
You will be expected to move throughout the scheme for your placements, and placement locations will vary depending on the placement choices, but may include Birmingham, Heathrow, East Midlands Gateway (near Derby), or Donnington.
During the programme, you will learn about:
- How we (& you) develop our colleagues
- The importance of positive & proactive relationships with our Trade Union partners
- The role of HR in its total state, how as a function we support & collaborate with each other
- Strategic & commercial decision making
- The importance of being creative in our decision making to support our colleagues in an ever changing environment
- Attracting & retaining talent
- HR data - e.g. absence
Development
The opportunities are endless - following the programme, you will have built a solid foundation for your career and be ready to develop into a future leader in HR.
Although the Graduate Programme itself doesn't have international placements, a global company like Kuehne+Nagel offers a multitude of possibilities for working abroad and exploring other areas of the business.
With support from your Mentor, Line Managers, and Programme Lead, your development will be regularly reviewed and you'll be supported in making decisions about how best to take the next steps in your career.
About you
To be a future HR leader, you'll need to be a quick learner and proactive about finding and exploring opportunities. You'll need to be great at managing a busy workload, with the confidence to speak out if you need help or spot an opportunity for improvement.
If you love speaking to different people, dealing with new challenges, and driving your own development, this programme will be a great fit for you. There's no sitting on the sidelines for our HR Graduates - you will be getting involved from the beginning and interacting with everyone from our HR Director to our drivers.
Interested? Here's what you'll need to apply:
- A 2:1 degree qualification (achieved or expected) and 5 GCSEs Grade A-C including Maths & English
- Eligibility to work in the UK
- You must be able to relocate for placements
- A full UK driving licence (or will have one by September 2021)
- Access to your own transport is preferable, but negotiable dependent on placements
- Willingness to learn - we don't expect you to be a Logistics expert, but we're looking for our future leaders!
