We are looking for five graduates to join Kuehne+Nagel on our Road Logistics Graduate Programme in September 2022. Two of you will join the central teams, two will specialise in Customs, and one will specialise in our Events, Aerospace and Defence products.

Are you able to think on your feet and great at talking to customers? Then this could be the programme for you.

The programme is two years long, with a variety of rotational business placements, and you'll gain a professional qualification along the way.

    About the programme

Our Road Logistics graduate programme will give you the opportunity to explore a diverse division within KN, with over 5000 customers, a vast portfolio of products and hundreds of consignments a week across the UK and Europe.

Our placements are flexible depending on the guidance of your graduate mentor and the needs of the business, but all five Graduates will start off in Branch Sales. There you will understand the products available and how business is generated for the Road Logistics operation. It will provide an overview of the Freight Account Manager role and the type of accounts we deal with.

Throughout your programme, you will work with your Mentor and Programme Lead to define your next placements and make sure they are developing you into a future leader in the Road Logistics team.

    Development

We will engage with you during your programme to discuss the different routes available, and where your strengths are well suited. Your progression will be led by business demand, the area you have specialised in and the skills and competencies you have developed. Different career routes depend entirely on you as an individual and where your interests lie. Graduates from this programme will typically move into a role where they are managing a small team, further developing your people management skills as well as your analytical or technical skills. The types of roles that graduates usually move into include Service Engineers, Key Account Managers, and Specialist Operators.

    About you

This is a complex and fast-paced environment, so people who enjoy challenge and problem-solving would thrive in this environment. You need to be able to work well with others, be confident to deal with customers and other third parties, but also have an eye for detail and organisation skills. We're looking for raw talent rather than prior knowledge, but we want to see that you're interested in the Logistics industry and where it could take you.

Interested? Here's what you'll need to apply:

    • A 2:2 degree qualification (achieved or expected) and 5 GCSEs Grade A-C including Maths & English
    • Eligibility to work in the UK
    • You must be able to relocate for placements
    • A full UK driving licence (or will have one by September 2022)
    • Access to your own transport
    • Willingness to learn - we don't expect you to be a Logistics expert, but we're looking for our future leaders!

    Our offer

We have lots to offer at Kuehne+Nagel; we're market leading with colleagues all over the world. But we know it's our people that make a real difference to how our customers feel. So come and join us on our journey. We'll offer you:

    • £27,000 starting salary plus a £1,000 joining bonus
    • 23 days holiday plus bank holidays and a holiday purchase scheme
    • Life assurance, private medical insurance, pension plan, and benefits portal
    • A flexible and understanding workplace where you're empowered and treated as an individual
    • A professional qualification linked to your graduate programme

And more than that - you'll get a career. This isn't just a two-year programme, it's a step up into the world of Logistics. You'll get back what you put in, and we've had previous graduates go all over the world and into all sorts of roles.

The closing date for applications is Friday 19th November at midday, however we do reserve the right to close the position early if sufficient applications are received before this date.

The assessment centres will be held virtually in December 2021
