Kuehne+Nagel is a global freight forwarder. Our Industrial Placements are open to university students due to undertake a year in industry as part of their course, who wish to gain valuable work experience.
Over a period of one year, you will have first-hand experience in the front line of our business operations. We’re looking for students who have a passion for logistics, and want to gain real-life experience in a fast paced and complex environment. Your role
This placement will be based in our Road Logistics business unit, based in our Tamworth facility. Our Tamworth facility is KN Road Logistics SecureChain distributions hub, providing increased security goods for large customers, including HP, Lenovo & Microsoft. The placement will include opportunities to gain experience within warehouse & transport operations, Customer services, and continuous improvement.
Due to the wide range of possibilities in this branch, we will work with the successful candidate to identify what your skills are and what you enjoy, and design a placement that will support your growth and development, whilst simultaneously providing you with an invaluable insight into our Road Logistics operation.
Your responsibilities
Tasks and responsibilities could include (depending on placement design):
- Customer service booking and monitoring of shipments
- Warehouse operations management
- Liaising directly with suppliers and customers
- Delivery performance monitoring
- Providing a first class customer service to understand their needs and execute as required
- Learn about a specialised networks Road Logistics product
- Support a continuous improvement problem solving project
