L3Harris are seeking industrial placements who will be responsible for providing support to the global L3Harris business by joining the Finance team, in a challenging fast-paced environment. The Finance team collaborates with every aspect of the business, in order to create solutions and respond to customer needs. Our Finance Industrial Placement will gain insight and exposure to all aspects of our finance activities including cost analysis, financial accounting, project finance, programme reporting, AR, AP, Billings & Collections to name but a few of the key functions with whom interactions occur on a daily basis.
In addition to the day-to-day activities, the Finance Industrial Placement will participate in internal strategic initiatives to drive change and continuous improvement. Other opportunities will be made available to increase their organizational awareness with interaction across the wider L3H business. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who really want to make the most of a placement year working in a complex, international and fast paced environment, pushing the boundaries of what can be learnt and experienced during a year’s placement
Knowledge, skills and qualifications
- Highly analytical - able to organise and interpret data quickly and effectively and some experience of financial modelling
- Some experience and awareness of the basis of accounting and how results can be read through the Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cashflow Statement
- Enthusiasm to perform to the best of their ability in everything they do and achieve the best result for the company by working in a flexible manner ensure high quality
- Strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines, managing multiple activities at once.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work towards a common goal as part of a multi-functional team.
- An ability to interface well at all levels within the business.
- Self-motivation with the ability to be innovative and think laterally to resolve issues, challenge working methods, champion change and help develop the function to achieve maximum effectiveness.
- The ability to work proactively and employ initiative to propose new ideas.
- The ability to excel in fast paced deadline oriented environment with high pressure situations, putting in the necessary work to complete the job
Desired skills, qualifications and experience
- Must be currently studying for a degree within the subject of Accounting, Mathematics, Engineering or Business Management
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel
- Effective time management skills
- Professional approach and presentation
- Driving license is desirable but not essential
