    L3Harris in Tewkesbury and Fleet are part of our ICI division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies primarily in the areas of crypto/cyber security, electronic warfare, counter drone capabilities and situation awareness projects.

    We have opportunities for Software Engineers to join us as 12-month Industrial Placement students to provide input to the design, implementation and testing of embedded and application projects in a real world engineering environment. These roles provides fantastic opportunities to develop skills in technical and professional areas, gain an understanding of working environments and valuable experience whilst making a difference.

    At L3Harris, in our Intelligence & Cyber International (ICI) division, we work closely with UK Government and Security Agencies to shape and build cutting-edge solutions that combat the ever-evolving threats faced by the public and private sectors on a daily basis.

    What the role will involve

    If you’re invited to join our team of dedicated experts, the responsibilities of your role will include:

    • Contributing to the development of complex Cyber Security or Electronic Warfare Systems through software design, coding or software testing in an embedded or applications environment.
    • Learning about our product architectures to build your understanding to apply your own ideas
    • Maintaining software Continuous Integration or DevOps environments or supporting script writing for automated testing
    • Staying up to date with new software technologies, methods and languages using both L3Harris and publically available resources.

    What you’ll bring

    The roles requires the following experience and skills:

    • A minimum of 3 A-Levels (or equivalent qualification) with grades of A, B, C or above (or equivalent qualification)
    • Pursuing a degree in a STEM subject, ideally Software Engineering or Computer Science, but others may be considered; with a predicted final grade of 2:1 or 1 st
    • Experience of embedded C++ code development and some experience of Python or Rust is desirable
    • Some understanding of continuous integration environments and DevOps tools such as GitLab/Jenkins
    • A passion for engineering and technology and a desire for a rewarding career in the engineering and technology industry
