The role
We are growing at Novanta’s Precision and Laser Manufacturing facility in Stockport! We are seeking a number of Manufacturing Technicians to join us in our state-of-the-art facility where we manufacture innovative products that matter!
We are investing into the incredible Stockport facility to manufacture more Novanta products – with more growth to come.
As an ideal candidate for this role of Manufacturing Technician, you will be a confident and highly organised self-starter with good communication and technical problem-solving skills to ensure execution of our quality standards and customer on time delivery metrics.
We are recruiting Manufacturing Technicians with experience, and those who want to kick start their career or whom are looking for a change in career. We will provide all of the training to set you up for success!

Primary responsibilities
- Assemble products or components according to work instructions and assembly drawings
- Usage of hand tools properly and safely
- Mechanical assembly of products within acceptable quality and output levels
- Soldering of cables, wires and through hole devices within acceptable quality limits
- Inspect product and properly identify non-conformances
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Assist in training new technicians or operators as needed.
General tasks
- Strict compliance with the quality, occupational safety, and environmental regulations.
- Implementation of the instructions of the quality / environmental management representative and the occupational safety specialist
About you
- Experience of working in a manufacturing assembly environment and/or production environment is preferred.
- Team player with strong computer, written, verbal and skills
- Previous experience in Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma environments is deemed advantageous, but not essential.
- Health & Safety and safe working practice awareness
