Looking for a summer internship in Risk that sharpens both your commercial acumen and technical skills?
We’re looking for undergraduates who can answer “yes” to the above for our Summer Internship Programme. You’ll join us in our L&G Asset Management Division, gaining valuable insights over the course of the 8-week summer placement. Starting Monday 30th June, your internship will last for 8 weeks.

Job description
Our teams are seeking an Intern who will work closely with the Risk teams to identify and analyse financial and non-financial risks across our business. You will also monitor our compliance with regulatory requirements and standards.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual with strong analytical skills and a curious mind. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to gain valuable experience in either the alternative investment industry or the asset management industry.
You will also take part in an induction week designed to introduce you to L&G and help prepare you for the remainder of the internship. Over the course of the internship you will have the chance to interact with different teams, hear from senior speakers and network with your fellow interns. Some of the day to day activities could include:
- Assist in identifying and assessing potential risks to the business
- Support the team in monitoring and assessing business compliance with regulatory rules and requirements
- Conduct research on industry trends and best practices and analyse data
- Assist in preparing reports and management information for senior management
- Participate in meetings and contribute to discussions related to risk management
- Most importantly you will be learning new skills and gaining knowledge of how our business works!
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will:
- On track for a 2:1 degree in a finance related or numerate subject
- Be a penultimate-year student of university (i.e. graduating in 2026)
- Have an interest in risk and be passionate about investing for the long term and L&G's purpose
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Be willing to learn, inquisitive and a critical thinker as well as proactive, enthusiastic, organised and methodical
- Possess strong Microsoft Excel skills, and be comfortable using PowerPoint and Word.
- Be friendly, approachable and comfortable collaborating with colleagues and stakeholders
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
