    Due to our continued growth in our Legal team, we’re now looking for a Legal Assistant to join our high performing team in Newcastle.

    Job Sumary

    As our Legal Assistant you will: work in our newly established Commercial & IP Unit, which forms part of the LeoVegas Group legal team. The Commercial & IP Unit is currently comprised of 5 qualified lawyers and 1 paralegal located in the UK & Malta.

    As a Legal Assistant, your primary responsibility would be supporting the team to ensure that everything runs smoothly from an administrative perspective but there would also be the opportunity to develop your legal skills and work on legal projects.

    Working within the Commercial & IP Unit at LeoVegas would mean you get the opportunity to work on marketing and sponsorship deals, intellectual property matters, terms and conditions, affiliate contracts and much more! We have recently concluded sponsorship deals with Man City & Inter Milan and so the legal work offered here is as exciting as it gets.

    This role would offer the opportunity for personal development, including the potential for you to gain work experience which would enable you to qualify as a solicitor under the Solicitors Qualifying Examinations (SQE). We therefore encourage applicants who have recently graduated from University with a law degree/ LPC to apply for this role.

    Our current paralegal in the team is working towards qualifying as a solicitor here at LeoVegas and we are hoping to find another candidate to follow in the same footsteps!

    What you can expect from this role

    • Provide administrative support to a team of UK and overseas lawyers.
    • Maintain manual and electronic records, including various databases.
    • Assist with record keeping of legal documents.
    • Handle tasks related to administrative and organisational tools used by the legal team, including databases and shared drives.
    • Assist with due diligence processes, including conducting due diligence on third party suppliers and dealing with requests for information and KYC documentation (as well as handling any due diligence requests we receive from third parties and authorities).
    • Assist with setting up company policies and procedures.
    • Retrieve and circulate legal and regulatory updates relevant to the business.
    • Carry out any ad hoc administrative tasks, including but not limited to, drafting letters, presentations, obtaining translations, organising agreements for signature, etc.
    • Any other administrative related tasks as may be needed.

    Your Areas of Knowledge and Experience

    • A Law degree/recent Law graduate
    • Previous experience of working in a legal administrative role is preferable but not required.
    • Fluent in English.
    • Strong communication and organisational skills.
    • Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines.
    • Be highly proficient in typing and familiarity with MS Office and Google applications.
    • Enjoy working in a diverse Company and can work as part of a team.
    • Experience or knowledge of the iGaming industry is considered an asset.
    • Exposure to legal and corporate documentation in previous roles is considered an asset.
