Lewisham is a young borough. One quarter of our residents are aged 0–19 years old. Our young people have huge talent and potential, and we want them to make the best start in life and grow up well-equipped to take advantage of the opportunities available to them in the diverse and vibrant city they live in.

Following a recent Focussed Visit Ofsted confirmed to us that we are doing the right things to make a difference. Ofsted noted for example that “Leaders know the services well,” and that, “Staff morale is high.” Following the creation of a new division within the directorate called Families, Quality & Commissioning a number of posts are available for professionals who share our high aspirations and ambition to give all children a great start in life, making sure our children’s future is everyone’s business.

The role

The CYP directorate is in the process of developing a new performance management team. As part of this process two new roles have been created: a performance analyst who will lead on children’s social care performance information and a performance analyst leading on early help performance information. These roles are critical to the continued improvement journey of the directorate.

These two new roles will be working particularly with the Social Care and Early Help services to develop improved mechanisms for tracking the outcomes of these services on the lives of children, young people and families. They will work as part of a wider team to ensure a more integrated approach to working with families, children and young people in Lewisham.

Location

Whilst the service is primarily based in Laurence House in Catford, we operate a hybrid approach whereby you may be required to work both in the office and from home as determined by service requirements.

What we’re looking for

We are looking for a special kind of leader. One that is keen to embrace the future and new ways of working, whilst ensuring our children and families are at the heart of all the work we do.

In return, we’ll offer excellent development opportunities, plus a range of benefits that includes a career average pension scheme, flexible working and the opportunity to make a real difference to our local community.

Salary details

£36,618 - £39,462 per annum (PO2)

N.B: All appointments will be offered at the starting salary for the grade of the role. The only exception to this will be when matching current salary (up to the maximum of the grade), which is subject to evidential proof.

Lewisham Borough Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share in this commitment.
