This role will enable someone with the skills and capacity to develop expertise in a dynamic and evolving sector. There will be a strong research element to the role, with data gathering and relationship building within the industry expected. A high level of internal collaboration will be required with colleagues around the world and across different functions.
Strong data handling, analytical, and communication skills will be required. Attention to detail, creativity, and initiative will be highly valued.
This role would suit an individual with a relevant academic background and/or experience in petrochemicals. The role will involve exposure to and collaboration with our global team of industry experts and quantitative analysts.
Main accountabilities/responsibilities

- Cover regional petrochemical markets, with a focus on Europe - produce monthly price forecast reports with a high level of insight and accuracy
- Write insightful analysis explaining production costs, margins, price trends and market developments for the region including regional overviews and outlooks
- Build and nurture a wide network of industry contacts
- Track changes in demand, supply, trade flows as well as related markets and contribute to updating relevant databases
- Report on complex topics in an engaging and timely manner using data visualisations
Key skills required
- Data analysis experience
- Degree, or equivalent experience, in a quantitative field (Chemistry or Chemical Engineering preferred)
- Working knowledge of SQL and Python and experience applying these to solving analytical problems would be advantageous
- Analytical, pro-active critical thinker
- Eye for detail, well-organised and able to meet deadlines and work to a high standard on multiple assignments
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English and an aptitude for building contacts and networks
