If so, we have an exciting opportunity for two experienced and enthusiastic individuals to join us as Finance Technicians within our Schools Finance Team; part of Lincolnshire County Council's Financial Services Team. This role benefits from the flexibility of hybrid working. You'll spend approximately 50% of your time at home and 50% of time in the office amongst the team.
About the Role (Schools Finance Team)
The team work closely with Lincolnshire schools to provide strategic and operational financial advice and support to key stakeholders including School Business Managers and Headteachers. This advice and support will be provided via a professional accountancy helpdesk facility (email and telephone support).This support ensures there is a positive impact on the provision of school education by assisting schools to ensure they have sustainable budgets.
The role will provide this advice on a range of areas including budget setting, budget monitoring, closure of accounts and year end support, compliance with financial policies and statutory returns.
You will work in a busy team with multiple priorities with a need to work flexibly and be adaptable to change. The role also includes the administration of the Sickness Insurance Scheme and the processing of financial returns for those schools who use an alternative accounting system to the Council.
About You
The ideal candidates should have a professional and organised approach to work with good knowledge of financial principles, be organised and able to plan workloads so that deadlines are achieved, possess excellent communication skills and is confident in supporting people at all levels of schools. You will have good ICT skills (particularly Excel), Association of Accounting Technicians (or equivalent) would be desirable or working towards this qualification.
