Spend a summer learning how our product management teams deliver improvements that help our customers across the UK with their banking needs.

We innovate to help people bank

Understanding the needs of our customers – 26 million individuals and one million businesses, to be specific – is our priority in Retail Customers and Products. From credit cards and savings accounts to mortgages and motor finance, our customers rely on our broad portfolio of products to improve every aspect of their financial lives. Like our industry, their needs are constantly changing. That means we’re always redefining how we communicate, market and create products to help them grow and prosper.

Is our retail customers and products internship for you?

Are you curious about how we create products to meet our customers’ needs? If you are, you could enjoy a summer internship with one of our teams.

Our teams are passionate about people – whether that’s building networks or helping customers. They’re also great with numbers. That’s how they discover trends and develop innovative products. As a collaborative team that appreciates different people with different strengths, they believe everyone can contribute valuable ideas, lessons and insights – interns included. If you like the sound of this and are excited by the chance to contribute to our purpose of helping Britain prosper, this internship could be right for you.

What does a retail customers and products intern learn?

Over 10 weeks on this internship, you’ll learn how our Retail Customers and Products teams gather insights, use them to improve the ways our customers bank, and manage their finances, on a national scale.

While discovering more about our products and how we market them, you’ll develop greater communication skills and build networks among your peers and across the Group. You’ll also experience first-hand how our inclusive culture can support you to add value to your community, and to our purpose of helping Britain prosper, now and after you graduate.

On a summer internship, you could be...

  • Looking at customer behaviours to learn how they use our services and how we shape our products to meet our customers’ needs
  • Developing business, storytelling and presentation skills
  • Editing or writing marketing materials for the launch of new products
  • Learning about our brands, including Halifax, Bank of Scotland and Lloyds Bank
  • Using software to analyse data and contribute your findings to a team project
