We’re a trusted name with a broad, competitive portfolio of products. Our customers come to us for mortgages, current accounts, savings, loans, credit cards, motor finance and more. But the industry is changing. And changing fast.

Which means we’re in a strong position to show how finance can be a force for good, especially when it comes to creating a sustainable society. It’s all part of fulfilling our purpose of Helping Britain Prosper.

As one of the UK’s largest financial services groups and its biggest digital bank, we can make a real difference to tackling climate change by helping to finance a greener future. That’s why we’ve set ourselves the ambitious goals of reducing the carbon emissions we finance by more than 50% by 2030 and becoming a net zero business by 2050.

Our role in Consumer Banking is to understand the evolving needs of our customers, reviewing and tailoring the products we offer them, and continually building even better ones – all with the important focus of doing this in a sustainable way. By listening and innovating, we’re making sure everything we do is with our 30 million customers and one million business customers in mind.

What you’ll learn on the Sustainable Consumer Banking Graduate Scheme

Over two years, you’ll discover how our teams create products that improve the way our customers manage their finances.

You’ll complete four placements, learning all the essentials such as customer insights, sustainable product development, data analysis, the day-to-day running of retail campaigns, and delivery of our products through Customer Channels, plus much more. In addition, you’ll get to work in one of our multiskilled Platform teams, which bring together tech and business capabilities to deliver brilliant outcomes for our customers.

Working in teams as diverse as ours provides unique opportunities to develop your communication and data skills, while building networks across the Group. Your line manager will help you create development plans for your progress, and if you’re interested, we’ll support you to study towards a professional qualification, such as a certificate in Business Accounting.

Throughout the scheme, you'll see how our culture and supportive environment helps you develop your strengths and build a career in a specialism you’re genuinely passionate about.
