The role of the Commercial Finance Intern for L’Occitane is to assist the team in analysing and reviewing the monthly financial & KPI data, assist in the Budgeting process, and get involved in ad-hoc projects that arise.
This role is a 12-Month Fixed-Term-Contract and does not have supervisory responsibilities. The position is based in the L'Occitane Head Office in central London and works to a hybrid working framework.
What Will You Do
- Supporting the Commercial Finance team and ensuring operational activities (regarding sales and expenses) are in line with the Budget. Also checking that financial data are correctly allocated to the right P&L accounts/cost centres.
- Detailed monthly review on sales, expenses & profitability by business units (by store, by channel, by type of customers, by product).
- Produce reports and analysis on Retail & Web discounts, including staff discounts.
- Organization and facilitation of physical stock counts with aid in preparation and post-stock take analysis.
- Supports the budgeting and reforecast process
- Produce reports and analyse staff Productivity in store, reporting to the Retail business partners on performance.
- Supports month end process with reporting and analysis
- Involvement in specific project activities, that aim to improve day to day business processes.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the Commercial Finance team and the Business.
The Perfect Candidate
- Ideally suiting candidate with Business/Accounting/Finance Degree or equivalent
- MS office skills, especially a high level of Microsoft Excel (Vlookups, Hlookups, Sumifs, Pivot Tables, Charts)
- Ability to learn and use other financial modelling tools or accounting software with training provided (for example TM1, SAP, BI, Tableau)
- Ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities and tasks
- Show critical thinking, ownership, and excellent analytical skills
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
- Team player
