    Lockheed Martin UK are hiring Engineering Graduates to join the Systems Engineering teams on programmes across the business, based in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

    All graduates hired within the 2022 cohort will be rotated through programmes over a 2 year period (approximately every 6 months), in order to provide as broad an exposure to the various programmes and also the various aspects of Systems Engineering development lifecycle as possible.

    Graduate Engineers are required to join a multi-discipline Engineering Function, supporting a diverse range of activities, providing the following:

    • Plan own work within defined constraints with the assistance of engineering and technical mentors
    • Provide overall technical support and assistance to engineers
    • Perform technical support and assistance to engineers
    • Perform technical analyses and prepare engineering reports
    • Develop the skills and working knowledge of project standards and procedures
    • Meet plans, schedules and costs with assistance from engineering technical mentors
    • Successfully complete and apply appropriate training courses.
    • Candidates should have a strong desire to work in the Defence Industry, whether that be Ground Based Air Defence, Weapon Systems, Command & Control, or Military Space domains.

    The candidate will be exposed to several disciplines (Systems, Modelling & Simulation, Integration & Test, amongst others) during the placement, and will gain experience on all stages of the Systems Development Lifecycle.

    Required skills, qualifications and experience

    • Degree in a STEM subject, preferably Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics or Physics but all STEM degrees will be considered.
    • Good verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to work well in a team environment.
    • Strong analytical and technical ability
    • Good IT skills in a range of software packages
    • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage own time to meet program needs.
    • Must be willing to hold and be able to obtain appropriate UK security clearance (managed through application).
