About the team

You will join the Specialty team, who work on behalf of reinsurance companies to manage and mitigate their exposures to large global risks.

We are a growing team of specialist brokers drawn from varying backgrounds and we are now looking to hire a graduate to assist in our business and to develop the necessary skills to become the next generation of client facing intermediary.

About the role

The role will involve transactional and administrative support of the team and candidates should expect to very quickly attain an understanding of mechanics of our market place, the nature of the risks in focus and the function of reinsurance.

As part of rapidly growing business area, there will be countless opportunities to take on responsibility and be heavily involved in the team/firm’s build out, both from a client/market engagement perspective. You will gain exposure to a wide range of reinsurance specialisms, including Terrorism & Political Violence, Political Risk & Credit Risk, Crisis Management, and Cyber.

Our business has a distinct global aspect and our customers are drawn from Europe, the United States, Bermuda and beyond. Within very few years there will be the opportunity to travel as we trade complex risks that require the support of broad networks.

Candidate profile

For this position, we are seeking candidates with a combination of the following attributes:

  • Strong academic background, with an analytical mindset – used to interpreting data and driven to understand and leverage insights.
  • Commercially astute – able to quickly interpret commercial challenges and driven to find solutions for our clients
  • Drive to learn – with a work ethic of continual improvement and excellent service
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and PowerPoint) – able to analyse information and both translate and articulate data with these tools effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills – able to impactfully communicate with stakeholders in both formal and informal situations.
  • Personable – able to build effective and positive relationships, and communicate both informally and in formal situations
