Working within our Market Security team, based in our City of London office, you will be responsible for the quantitative and qualitative review of Lockton's placing markets as well as covering due diligence checks.
The role's responsibilities
- Ensure compliant on boarding of (re)insurers and placing intermediaries
- Respond to placing market Know Your Client (KYC) requests
- Ensure up to date records are maintained at all times on the Market Security systems
- Maintain and publish the Market Security approved lists
- Monitor (rating agency) rating movements on approved markets
- Use internal and external analysis systems to assist in the review of (re)insurer financials
- Assist in ensuring the integrity of the account opening process
- Assist the Market Security Coordinator in responding quickly and in an innovative way, to ad-hoc requests from the business for support on client or RFP requests for information and support
- Complete agency applications on behalf of the business, under the supervision of the Market Security Coordinator
- Complete sufficient ongoing due diligence on placing (re)insurers and intermediaries
- Prepare the Market Security Meeting Pack and meeting minutes
- Assist in the day-to-day activities of the market security function
- Review TOBAs under the supervision of the Market Security Coordinator
- Act as secretary to the Market Security Committee
- Prepare updates (including security downgrade) announcements to the reinsurance, international, UK businesses
- Maintain the Market Security intranet page and keep all documentation up to date
- Assist the Market Security Coordinator in overseeing the international business’ Market Security function
Qualifications
- Graduate preferred but not essential
- Insurance or Risk Management qualifications would be advantageous but not essential as support will be given to obtain these
- Experience of working in the market security, compliance or risk department of an insurance broker operating in the UK regulatory environment, would be preferred, but is not essential as full training provided
- Adaptable, with a desire to develop and enhance the role and the approach within the team
- An eye for detail and a focus on accuracy
- Positive attitude
- Good communication skills in order to interact with associates at all levels
- Able to work independently and prioritise work and to manage workload
- Ability to balance competing objectives, prioritise and ensure that deadlines are met
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
