About the position
Your experience as an intern at Lockton will be like no other. You will be given the opportunity to dive into our business and add value from day one.
Supported and mentored by experts from across the business, you’ll participate in training sessions to grow your knowledge, build relationships with Lockton experts, clients and markets and deliver real value through client-focused projects.
Through your experience, you’ll get a real sense of life at Lockton and what a career in our industry could look like. Successful interns may be fast-tracked onto our Graduate Programme the following year.
Placement details
- Competitive salary: £2,800
- 2 days annual leave
- Start date: Monday, 17th June 2024
- Duration: 6-week paid programme
- Location: The majority of places will be based at our central London office (EC3A 7AG)
- You need to be living within a daily commuting distance for the duration of the placement.

Your responsibilities
Lockton are excited to be hosting our third year of interns at our London office, around the corner from the iconic Lloyd’s of London building in the City.
Our 6-week Internship Placement has been built so you can explore a career in insurance whilst giving you the opportunity to create your own experiences.
What is insurance?
You will work in the dynamic world of insurance, where your days could consist of anything from helping key political figures protect their reputations and their livelihoods, to working with boutique galleries to safeguard their Rembrandt collections. As a Broker, we represent the needs of our clients when they need to purchase insurance by assessing their specific risks and negotiating policies with insurance providers on their behalf.

Qualifications
Who we are looking for
Our Internship Programme is open to all penultimate year undergraduate students, who are curious and eager to learn, regardless of degree subject. You are a strong communicator, have excellent numerical and analytical skills and enjoy building relationships and collaborating with others.

- A positive, proactive, can-do attitude, even when under pressure
- Organised and proactive with the ability to plan own workload
- Quality-driven with great attention to detail
- Adaptability, as the insurance landscape is ever-evolving and a fast-paced environment
Minimum requirements
- Penultimate year students only (2nd year of a 3-year course or 3rd year of a 4-year course)
- A minimum of grade 4 / C GCSE (or equivalent) in English Language and Maths and three A-levels / 5 Highers (or equivalent)
