    The Commercial Product and Price Analyst is responsible for determining the appropriate pricing for company products based on a variety of factors. Their duties include conducting market research to learn more about competitor pricing for similar items, reviewing previous sales data and company revenue needs and deciding a market price for a range of products based on their finding. Also include the deep analysis of data and then determining the best way to represent it visually to managers and stakeholders.

    Key Duties

    • Analyse pricing data from industry standards, previous sales trends and competitors and report data to decision-makers.
    • Identify marketing strategies to increase profits
    • Develop measurement tools to identify changing market trends.
    • Identify appropriate sales and clearance prices to increase customer traffic.
    • Compare sales trends to previous periods and determine the cause for decrease or increase.
    • Interpret data, analyse results using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports
    • Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimise statistical efficiency and quality
    • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
    • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns within the data sets
    • Work with management and the aftersales team to prioritise business and information needs
    • Help locate and define areas of weakness and opportunities that can be leveraged to improve the financials of the Aftersales business
    • Liaise with internal and external clients to fully understand data content
    • Assist with producing sector and competitor benchmarking

    Our ideal candidate will

    • Education: Qualifications in Business, Economics, or Mathematics, or equivalent educational qualification, or experience in sales, marketing, or finance. But a pricing experience is preferred
    • Strong quantitative and analytical skills: The pricing analyst job requires providing insight working with large data and numbers. Equipped with quantitative and analytical skills, and the ability to identify the right tools applicable to a given data set for a valid result
    • Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Tools, i.e., Excel, Word and PowerPoint
    • Experience with ERP and SAP
    • Must be customer focussed, creative and business orientated
    • Excellent communicator at all levels
    • Results driven and self-motivated
