    We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Solution Architect to join our Tech team! You will help create, shape and lead the IT system integration processes to meet the organisation’s needs. You will work with a variety of technologies to integrate old and new world, internal applications and third parties.

    You will also be responsible for delivering technical solutions and advising the business on the best technical options to deliver the business requirements. This will include APIs into legacy databases and automated export/import of data between the systems. This will also include advising on frontend implementations and experiments.

    You will work with in house development teams as well as 3rd party suppliers to help implement the enterprise architecture roadmap and to maximise our business benefits and trading opportunities.

    Please note, you will need to be able to commute to our central Bath office up to 3 times per week.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Responsible for technical architecture of transformation solutions
    • Assessing technical (and sometimes non-technical) solutions and presenting them to technical and non-technical audiences
    • Analysing existing technologies and identifying things to keep, improve or replace
    • Lead the technical recommendations for build/buy decisions
    • Working with the project managers and business analysts on the transformation projects, requirements and delivery
    • Software architecture, direction and technical expertise in the design, implementation and delivery of internally built solutions.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of software engineering principles and web development best practices
    • Analysing and finding any impacts that that technical changes may have on a stakeholder’s capabilities

    Skills Knowledge and Expertise

    • Experience in software engineering, architecture and/or ecommerce within the retail industry
    • Architect Experience with ecommerce platforms (including SFCC/Demandware), XML/XSD, REST, JSON, NodeJS, React, Google Cloud, Databases, Queues would be desirable
    • Other technologies in use that would be useful to have knowledge and experience of: ColdFusion, C# .net core, Typescript, SQL server, MySQL, RabbitMQ, Microservices, APIs
    • Systems integration experience including warehouse management, inventory management, order management, ERP, Marketing and Transactional email, CRM
    • Agile development: Kanban and Scrum, Continuous integration, Continuous deployment, build pipelines, Jira, Confluence, Slack, Bitbucket, Agile Testing.
    • Experience of agile project and product management
    • You are well organised have a hands-on attitude as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
    • Ability to take the incentive with a proactive mindset towards tasks
