This is a role in the Business Improvement and Change Team within L&Q’s Strategy, Planning and Change Directorate, offering a first step opportunity to candidates wanting to develop a career in Business Improvement.

We have recently updated our portfolio of policies, processes, and standard operating procedures, which will soon be relaunched across our business. As a result, this role will primarily focus on reviewing and refining processes, as well as rewriting standard operating procedures.

Additionally, you may be responsible for delivering small projects and initiatives across the Group, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. This will involve working collaboratively to manage project plans, risks, issues, and governance. The role also includes identifying and analysing information, such as customer insights, providing basic training, and fostering collaboration through co-working.

Key responsibilities

  • Developing process maps and writing standard operating procedures.
  • Supporting the wider Business Improvement & Change Team in delivering projects.
  • Helping to embed a continuous improvement mindset and capability across the L&Q Group.

The successful candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across L&Q, but possess the confidence to make clear and reasoned decisions
  • A strong ability to actively listen, negotiate, challenge and influence at all levels
  • Self-manage goals, targets and outputs is required in order to deliver effective change with pace
  • Quickly acquire in depth knowledge of L&Q’s business processes and systems.
  • Acquire a good understanding and skill in process mapping using Microsoft Visio
  • Able to develop Standard Operating Procedures using the L&Q format.
  • An understanding of project management and change management techniques and ideally some acquired demonstrable experience of delivery
  • An awareness of lean continuous improvement tools and techniques and the drive to train and coach colleagues.
