We seek someone who holds a good understanding of electrical systems, with either formal qualifications or maybe looking for a new challenge to build on their achievements, to join our dynamic team currently delivering installation, maintenance, and product support services for HV assets across the UK.

Job Context

You will work as part of a highly skilled Engineering division supporting all aspects of HV services to our clients and customers.  As part of our team you will get to both support your peers in the delivery of HV engineering and also be required to lead projects when called on.

The ideal candidate will have a background in the UK services industry, covering HV or LV works across sectors including private HV networks, DNO’s, IDNO’s or ICP’s.  The role will support projects through from sales into delivery under the strategic direction of the Operations manager and the Head of department.

Job Dimensions

You will be working with a team of skilled HV Engineers, SAP’s, managers and supporting staff across all aspects of the HV industry.  The role is a balance of home based, site visits and working from one of our offices.  The core hours are 07:30 to 16:00 Monday to Thursday, 07:30 am to 12:00 Friday, depending on operational work and site requirements additional hours will be required.

Opportunities to support additional overtime through operational works on weekends and travel abroad may also be available to the right candidate.

Key Accountabilities

These will include:

  • Be part of the team in driving sales growth of our UK Energy Services business, working closely with a wide range of internal stakeholders.
  • Handle customer enquiries via email, telephone and from third parties such as sales managers.
  • Schedule and coordinate site work with a range of engineers, sub-contractors, and utilities companies.
  • Manage handovers from sales through to delivery.
  • Ensure work programme is efficiently utilised and the work bank is reviewed regularly.
  • Lead the delivery of a range of projects and small works. This could cover a range of activities from a large maintenance activity to a transformer change and many other work types.
  • Oversee customer and subcontractor relationships attending meetings both in Thame and at customer premises where required.
  • Support Engineering team with H&S documents, job packs and programmes as required.
  • Carry out site audits and attend customer meetings.
  • Assist in the management job costing, material purchases and specifications, logistics and travel arrangements.

Desirable:

  • Assist on site with the delivery of works when required.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Experience in delivering efficient and effective services to customers whether on site or at a planning stage from an office environment.
  • Experience in delivery of project work in Electrical Utilities, or for private industries.
  • Computer literate – skilled in MS office
  • Full driver’s License, willingness to travel and work weekends as overtime or with a day off in the week.

Desirable:

  • Proven track record of experience in the Electrical and/or distribution Industry.
  • Technically qualified with a BTEC, C&G, HNC in engineering, project management or similar fields.
  • Good knowledge of H&S and its practical implications.
  • Experience in delivery of project work in other UK utilities sectors.
  • Training – Project management, Agile, ISO9001 or 45001, NEBOSH
  • Willingness to assist in out of hours call out rota.
