    Morrison Water Services is currently looking to recruit Graduate Design Civil Engineers to join our team and embark on an exciting career in the Water industry.

    About the role

    As a Graduate Design Civil Engineer, you will work on our Caledonia Water Alliance contract who deliver water and wastewater projects for our client Scottish Water. You will engage with Project Managers, Designers, Commercial staff, SHEQ and delivery teams that will enable you to further develop your understanding and capability in a built environment. You will be part of a team that delivers the safe, efficient and on time delivery of water and wastewater infrastructure schemes.

    Morrison Water Services Civil Engineer Programme is designed to continue your journey towards becoming a specialist in your chosen field. You’ll have continuous support and one to one mentoring throughout your journey that will allow you the freedom to tailor your path into roles and disciplines where you can put your best ideas into practice.

    When you're starting out in your career as a Graduate Civil Engineer, you'll be required to undertake the following tasks:

    • You will become key part of a site management team that deliver construction projects to a leading standard.
    • You’ll be preparing civil engineering design deliverables such as, calculations, drawings, and other documentation under the direction of the Senior Engineer.
    • You will also be involved in the drafting of work task plans and incorporating the requirements of Health and Safety plan and standards.
    • You will carry out site visits and survey inspection assessments under the supervision of others.
    • You’ll be undertaking any work of a technical nature that falls within your ability but have the confidence to seek advice from others.
    • You will have the opportunity to be involved in the programme management of tasks to ensure project delivery progress is maintained.
    • Joining us as a graduate will give you the chance to gain an understanding of the management of project budgets and programme, keep up to date with industry best practice and where appropriate identify innovation/best practice for consideration.
    • Last but not least you’ll be part of our structured Graduate programme leading to professional qualification.

    Entry requirements

    A single or joint degree in Civil Engineering

    Skills

    • Do you have focus on quality and integrity in everything you do?
    • Have you the ability to communicate in different formats with a variety of stakeholders?
    • Do you have a strong attention to detail with an aptitude for problem-solving?
    • Are you a self-motivated and highly professional team player with a flexible, yet structured approach?
    • You will need Strong IT skills. Proficient in all MS Office applications

    We will be conducting an assessment day which will take place on 24th of January 2024 in Glasgow. Please only apply if you are able to attend.

    The start date of the graduate programme will be the first week of September 2024 and you must be available to start employment on this date to be considered for the programme.
