Overview
Joining the Macquarie Summer Internship Programme, you’ll have the opportunity to gain insight into the financial services industry and build the technical skills and knowledge that will help you kick start your career.
Your 9-week programme will start with a tailored induction week providing you with the skills and knowledge we think you need to be successful. Over the course of your programme, you’ll sit side-by-side with business leaders and have the opportunity to work on live projects and transactions from day one.
You’ll gain valuable experience and insight into your chosen business area, working closely with your team. You’ll also get on-the-job experience and hands-on training to help set you up for a successful career once you complete your studies. Many of our Summer Interns receive offers to join our Graduate Programme the following year.

By applying for the Macquarie Summer Internship through Bright Network's coaching programme, you'll receive extra coaching and support on how to succeed in Macquarie’s application process.
As well as the support from Bright Network, shortlisted candidates will be assigned a personal mentor from Macquarie. This is a unique opportunity to be paired with a Macquarie employee who will be there to help you excel in the recruitment process as well as giving personal advice, tips on the sector and a real insight into life at Macquarie. Your mentor will help you refine your own skills and knowledge to be able to stand out from others as you progress through the process.
This coaching programme will not only give you the best chance to secure an internship at Macquarie, but also the added confidence and experience to succeed in any recruitment process.
How do I apply?
To get started, click on the link at the bottom of this page to fill in the application form. Bright Network will then screen your CV and initial application. Successful candidates will go straight through to a numerical reasoning test, followed by a short video interview.
How does the coaching programme work?
If you are successfully shortlisted by Bright Network, you will be shared directly with Macquarie as a high performer. You’ll receive an email from them inviting you to take part in the Macquarie recruitment process tailored to the role that you have expressed an interest in.
To continue supporting you through the process, once shortlisted you will be paired with your mentor from Macquarie who will reach out via email. Bright Network will also be on hand to help you excel at each stage.
If you are not successful in being shortlisted for the coaching programme, you can still apply directly to the Macquarie Summer Internship directly.
Candidate profile
To be eligible for the coaching programme and internship, we are looking for talented BAME students who:
- Are in their penultimate year of study
- Are anticipating at least a 2.1 degree or equivalent
- Are genuinely intrigued and excited by the Finance sector
- Can demonstrate a strong ability to analyse and to learn
- Can work well with others and communicate clearly
- Have perseverance and are confident in using their initiative
