    Are you a STEM student passionate about working at the cutting edge of research and exploring new technologies? Join our vibrant Technology Scouting Unit team in Malvern and:

    • Understand the physics at the limit of current material characterization technologies and help identify and assess innovative solutions.
    • Explore real world research challenges and explore how these may be developed into impactful scientific instruments.
    • Develop your skills in different branches of research and technology assessment, including design of experiment, simulation and modelling, technology readiness and intellectual property.
    • Learn from the best in a collaborative environment with access to industry-standard tools.

    About the role

    • Duration: 13 months, starting July 1st, 2024, ending 25th of July 2025
    • Salary: £18,525 per year
    • Benefits: 25 days paid holiday + UK bank holidays, employee assist program and more
    • Location: Malvern office
    • Hybrid working, based on your tasks.

    Qualifications

    • Currently enrolled in a STEM degree (Physics, Natural Science, Engineering or similar) that offers an Industrial Placement Year
    • Right to work and live in the UK for the duration of the placement.
    • An understanding of experimental planning and how to work in a laboratory environment.
    • Experience of scientific programming like Python would be an advantage.
    • Creative thinking – design will be at the heart of this work.
    • An interest in understanding technology challenges and effectively communicating complex research topics.
    • Curiosity and desire to learn – the projects are interdisciplinary.
    • A scientific approach to problem solving.
    • Strong collaboration and communication skills.
