    What we are looking for

    We’re seeking enthusiastic students to join our Year in Industry program, specifically designed for undergraduates to immerse themselves into the STEM subjects they are most passionate about. The Year in Industry students will fill an important role in our Research & Development and Sustaining teams.

    These roles include

    Engineer (Electronic/Mechanical/System) Scientist Data Scientist Software Dev/Software Tester

    In these roles you will work as part of a larger team to contribute to delivery new scientific and industrial instrumentation solutions.

    If your application is successful, you will be welcomed into the team and experience a comprehensive induction program to help you get settled. We continue to support and develop our students by harnessing their skills, knowledge, and performance with in-house, on-the-job, and external training. Our Year in Industry students are empowered and encouraged to take on new challenges and experience a full variety of projects that form part of the everyday at Malvern Panalytical.

    Responsibilities?

    • You will contribute to the research and development efforts of the team by assisting in the design, development, and testing of scientific instruments and equipment.
    • You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers and technical specialist to understand project requirements and contribute to the overall development process, resolving technical challenges and implementing innovative solutions.
    • You will actively participate in professional development opportunities, such as attending conferences, workshops, and training sessions and stay informed about new tools, techniques, and industry best practices to enhance your skills and contribute to the team's success.

    What do you need to be successful in this role?

    • Studying a bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant STEM field, such as Physics, Engineering, Chemistry, Computer or Materials Science that allows for a placement year.
    • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with a diverse team of scientists, engineers, and technicians.
    • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset. Be able to identify and tackle technical challenges, propose creative solutions, and adapt to evolving project requirements.
    • Exhibit a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies, methodologies, and industry trends. Embrace challenges and seek opportunities for personal and professional growth.
