The Purpose
Manchester United is a leading Premier League Football Club with a global brand presence. The Club is recruiting for year-long internship positions to support the Alliances department. This is a unique and rare opportunity to work for one of the world’s leading football clubs, renowned for its success and innovation on and off the pitch. This 12-month paid placement offers experience working in a fast-paced and dynamic commercial office. The successful candidate will gain an invaluable insight into the commercial business of a global football club, specifically supporting the Alliances function of the club.
The Role
Candidates should expect to learn about and undertake a range of tasks, including but not limited to:
- Writing reports on a range of industries and businesses, assessing and making initial recommendations on their suitability for sponsorship
- Monitoring, identifying and reporting on developments within the business of sport
- Developing a sound grasp of the range of research resources available to the team, and building a good working knowledge of the most regularly used sources
- Delivering analysis & insight to support Sales meetings & negotiations
- Reporting on various commercial activities and conducting deep-dive analyses on commercial performance
- Being adaptable, dealing with a varied and challenging range of requests from across the business
- Being diligent, attentive to details and able to work autonomously
The Person
The most suitable intern for this position would have the following:
- Be an ambitious graduate with an excellent academic background
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage large data sets
- Desk and internet research skills, with a willingness to find new data/research
- Ability to think logically and strategically
- A team-player, able to collaborate and build relationships with key stakeholders throughout the Club
- The ability to work in an independent and self-confident manner
- Experience using Microsoft Office programs – including Word, PowerPoint and Excel – preferable but not essential
- Candidate should demonstrate pride and passion in working for Manchester United
Qualifications
- No previous experience necessary
- Degree 2:1 level or above in relevant subjects preferable
