Manthorpe Building Products is a leading designer, manufacturer and supplier of plastic injection moulded, vacuum formed and extruded products for the building industry.
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Management Accountant to join the team on a full time, permanent basis.
The role will support the accountancy department with the production of management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting and analysis. Reporting directly to the Management Account, the role will provide direct support as and where required including preparation of both monthly and annual accounts, ensuring adherence to strict deadlines.
The successful candidate will be part of the Sustainable Building Products accountancy team based at our Ripley site. There may be occasional traveling to other business sites as and when required.
Key responsibilities
- Assist the company Management Accountant with the preparation of monthly accounts and annual accounts to strict deadlines
- Preparation and posting of journals and documents to computer systems
- Assisting with monthly and quarterly government returns and other internal or external ad hoc requests that may occur from time to time
- Assisting with taxation returns and payments including Value Added Tax and Pay As You Earn
- Assisting with month end reconciliations of key accounts using Microsoft excel schedules
- Assisting with recording of fixed assets and depreciation calculations
- Liaison with our accounts receivable and accounts payable teams with respect to any queries or reconciliations
- Assisting with making miscellaneous payments
- Assist with customer rebate calculations and the preparation of credit notes
- To assist with cashflow forecasting
- Any ad hoc requests and duties that may occur from time to time (daily stock reports and weekly OTIF etc)
Skills and requirements
- Part-qualified / partially exempt accountant is desirable but is not essential for this role
- Experience of utilising accountancy software
- Excellent Excel skills to be able to analysis date efficiently and effectively. The creation of vlookups and pivot tables is essential.
- The ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the business
- A clear eye for detail with good problem solving skills
Working Hours: This role is full time working 9:00am until 5:00pm with a 30 minute lunch break.
