    MAPP’s building consultancy team has a proven track record across all sectors providing quality market leading commercial advice, experience and knowledge on all stages of the property life-cycle. The experienced team provides a suite of services ranging from building surveys, technical due diligence and pre-acquisition surveys, contract administration and project management to monitoring on-site works.

    An opportunity has become available within our Building Consultancy team for a Building Surveyor to be based in our Birmingham Office. You will have day to day management of your own instructions. You will need to be looking for the added value in jobs and have confidence to put your views forward within the small but growing team within MAPP

    Essential Duties Will Include

    • To manage and take ‘ full ownership’ of jobs– the buck stops with the surveyor.
    • To meet the client director for one to one meetings.
    • To attend team meetings.
    • To carry out property inspections and take note of building defects, tenant alterations, occupiers and what i s happening in the local area.
    • To draft and present all technical and commercial reports for face to face meetings.
    • To report directly to clients – there is no one to hide behind.
    • To attend meetings with tenants and consultants.
    • Monitor Risk Wise to ensure the properties are compliant with Health & Safety requirements.

    The Ideal Candidate Must Have

    • An understanding of the rationale behind the building surveying opportunities and showing a readiness to engage in negotiations.
    • Able to hit deadlines, targets and KPI’s on the building you manage
    • Excellent organisational skills
    • Strong interpersonal skills, capable of communicating at various levels
    • Effective PC skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft and Google packages
    • Pro-active, flexible attitude to changes i n the company, IT systems and the role
    • Able to use own initiative
    • Mrics

    • A salary ranging from £26,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience.
