Margaret Howell is a contemporary British clothing designer who has worked successfully in men’s and women’s clothing for over five decades. Today, Margaret Howell clothes are sold worldwide with 12 own shops in Europe, over 100 outlets in Japan and an established online business.

The Accounts Assistant will be responsible for managing the reconciliation of the bank accounts, ensuring accuracy and efficiency throughout. They will support the accounts team with purchase and sales ledger entries.

Key responsibilities

Cash & Banking

Daily download & analysis of payment provider reports

  • Posting of bank transactions to correct budget codes - multi bank / multi currency

Daily bank reconciliations

General Bookkeeping & Accounts Administration

  • Support for the Accounts team with Purchase & Sales Ledger
  • Setting up Business Partners, entering invoices, sending remittances, requesting copy documents, checking statements

Payments

  • Support Management Accountant with payment planning

Retail accounts administration

  • Shop Sales Reconciliations

Role requirements

Essential

  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Problem solving and query resolution
  • Some accounts experience and/or AAT (or other accounting qualification) student preferred.
  • SAP B1 or similar system experience preferred
  • Acute and thorough attention to detail and ability to analyse and interpret data.
  • Intermediate Excel
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines and prioritise work accordingly
  • Proactive, a ‘can do’ attitude, open to change and solution oriented.
  • Ability to build strong collaborative stakeholder relationships and work successfully as a member of cross functional teams.
  • Ability to act on own initiative and recommend improvements or changes.

  • Finance related degree or educated to a similar level
