We are looking for an ambitious, switched-on copywriter to join our growing content team. You will be responsible for producing high-quality documentation that contributes and supports marketing efforts of both Marketopia and our IT channel clients (managed service providers, value-added resellers, cloud service providers, vendors, and partner companies in the high-tech B2B space). You should perform well under deadlines and be detail oriented. Ultimately, you should be able to engage all marketing content initiatives ensuring customer engagement, brand consistency, and a positive customer experience.
Essential functions
- Use a client brief and generate original copy ideas that grab the attention of the target audience for various advertising channels
- Present drafts and ideas to and for clients
- Vary language and tone of message based on product and medium
- Consult with sales and marketing representatives to obtain information on product or service and discuss style and length of copy
- Edit or rewrite the existing copy as necessary and submit copy for approval
- Write content such as webpages, eBooks, blogs, socials, ads, press releases etc.
- Research and create thought leadership campaigns/pieces within the IT and high technology industries
- Work with the digital team to incorporate SEO best practices in content
- Work with the design team to synch content with layout
- Supporting the team with peer reviews to ensure quality control
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Journalism, Marketing or any humanities subject or equivalent professional experience in content writing services
- Experience in developing content and articulating concepts for marketing/creative briefs
- Willingness to research and seek out information to ensure you can take on new tasks as required to support the evolving needs of the business
- Strong critical thinking, communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive and work autonomously in a fast-paced, high-volume, hybrid-working environment with competing priorities and tight deadlines
- SEO experience
- Experience writing for hardware, software, cybersecurity, cloud, database or IT solutions would be beneficial
- Technical proficiency in Microsoft 365
- Comfort with multiple, shifting priorities and short deadlines
- Excellent writing and editing skills with a keen eye for detail
- The ability to work closely and easily with a diverse team
- Professional communication skills for email, phone and in-person meetings – both internally and with external clients
- Excellent organisational skills
