The Role

We would like to invite you to apply for a twelve month industrial placement within Marsh’s Analytics Solutions team, which is focused on supporting our clients with analytical and actuarial project work.

Throughout your placement, you will work alongside our graduate intake and wider team colleagues, becoming pivotal members of our fast paced, innovative and rapidly growing team.

Sitting within Marsh Advisory, Analytics Solutions provides analytical services to Marsh’s corporate client base. We support clients in reviewing the financial efficiency of their commercial insurance programmes and using statistical models to identify optimal insurance structures, as well as providing a variety of actuarial services to Marsh’s Captive Solutions client base, supporting captive clients through Solvency II Actuarial Function appointments, loss reserve reviews and technical pricing studies.

We will rely on you to

  • Work closely with our graduate intake and other colleagues, learning the technical and soft skills required to support our clients.
  • Work within project teams comprising of experienced analysts and actuaries to:
  • Ensure our clients receive solutions that are tailored to their bespoke needs.
  • Support Marsh’s specialist insurance brokers with the placement of insurance risks in the London Market.
  • Deliver reserving, Solvency II and risk finance projects; being involved in every stage of the project from building statistical models to drafting reports and joining client meetings.

What you need

  • A strong academic background, excellent communication and problem solving skills, self-motivation and a willingness to learn.
  • Currently be in the 2nd year of a numerate degree
  • On course for a 2.1 degree or above.

A numerate degree and mathematics A-Level is highlighted as a condition due to the rigorous and demanding nature of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (IFoA) qualification syllabus.
