Our customer insights team are currently are looking for a Junior Insight Analyst to drive data innovation within Matalan.
About the Role
In this role, you'll be focussing on the commerciality of insights & play a role in delivering the wider strategic vision for data & insight within the team, department and the business overall. You’ll be analysing datasets to produce reports and assist in creating presentations that tell a logical story and recommending actions to take.
It’s an incredibly exciting time to join us as an Insight Analyst at Matalan - you’ll have the autonomy to really make a difference to how we strategise and move forward with our departments. You’ll also be responsible for:
- Delivering valuable insights based on varied business issues, calling on various techniques based on the business question at hand
- Working closely with stakeholders to produce insights as required
- Continuously thinking about the commerciality of insights and how we can quantify the impact of decisions we influence – in order to build a solid understanding of where we can deliver most value and how we should prioritise work in the future
- Developing tools, reporting and processes than can improve the insight and analytical capabilities of the team and wider business – with a key focus on advancing the democratisation of data to ensure non-analyst colleagues in the business can answer more basic or routine questions for themselves
- A key element of the role is the provision of automated visualisations to ensure that stakeholders have the tools they need to ensure data & insights are used in every decision
About You
- At least 1 years’ experience with one or more database technologies (T-SQL, PL-SQL, Big Query etc.) – including a solid understanding of SQL programming
- Awareness of different statistical techniques and analysis methodologies to answer business questions
- Experience working with large datasets, writing code & generating analysis to tight deadlines with stakeholders
- Experience of visualisation software advantageous
- Digital analytics experience advantageous
- Confident in Microsoft Excel and the rest of the Microsoft Suite (Or equivalent)
