The role

An exciting opportunity has arisen within Matthew Algie for a skilled and passionate marketing assistant to join our team. The selected candidate will assist the Head of Marketing and other colleagues in developing sales strategies and marketing campaigns to maximise company profits.

Key responsibilities

Event support

The Marketing assistant will be responsible for overseeing the yearly event calendar and working with Head of Marketing and other marketing colleagues to ensure successful execution for all Matthew Algie & Espresso Warehouse events.

To ensure successful implementation of corporate events, presentations, and photo shoots, coordinate the briefing, help populate the event plan and log all associated tasks & comms in the shared events folder.

  • Product order, collation and restocking post-show
  • MMCRF submissions
  • Logistical arrangements
  • Purchase order requests
  • Event form submissions
  • Event kit logging
  • Lead, conversion and sales reporting
  • Secondary assistance with sales events as required

Promotions

  • Support Head of Marketing to devise, launch & monitor promotions to boost sales of coffee, coffee machines & espresso warehouse products.
  • To own the yearly promotional calendar and to closely monitor and track performance of promotions.

Brand marketing support

  • Maintain Customer Training Lab & Espresso Warehouse Innovation Room with current seasonal range and maintain all posters & catalogue distribution points at HQ (and Coffee Schools), ensuring always with latest POS designs
  • Analyse usage of MA and EW POS materials to inform future strategy and actions
  • Support Marketing & Innovation Manager with listing all Brand & Seasonal POS
  • Support Marketing colleagues with events, carts, menu boards & café re-brands

Internal & external communications

  • To provide the latest, cleansed, GDPR complaint, segmented and sales-approved customer database for each EW catalogue (and other mailing as required)
  • To manage the distribution process from quote through PO to completion
  • To receive and action any returns to ensure failed mailings are never repeated and Sales are aware of database corrections needed.
  • Create monthly Marketing round-up and share with all staff

Marketing admin

  • Manage Customer database and co-ordinate data refreshes once per year
  • PO requests and product code request forms as required
  • Marketing stock usage data as required
  • Support Head of Marketing with monitoring the Marketing Budget
  • Other general admin as needed

Other

  • Work with Purchasing team & Marketing manager to order new samples

Experience

We’re looking for a recent graduate or someone with a few years of experience in a similar marketing role. Whilst we will provide training it would be advantageous if the candidate could have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of marketing.
