Main Accountabilities:
New Investment Activity
- Support investment team members in helping identify companies as potential new investment opportunities.
- Assist with maintaining activity profile and deal log records with updates into internal reporting systems.
- Support with AGM/GM corporate governance resolution meeting checks on investee companies.
Investor Relations and Corporate Governance
- Assist and help manage City investment contacts base with the maintenance/co-ordination of the investee company results and meeting calendars.
- Help assist in the production and generation of regular investment reports, feedback and trading on the underlying AIM companies with the inputting of information into internal reporting systems.
- Develop a productive and ongoing relationship with investee portfolio management teams where possible.
Portfolio Management
- Work with investment team colleagues to monitor the performance of the AIM company holdings.
- Preparation and participate in meetings conferences and events with investee and potential investee company managements, stockbrokers and other corporate finance advisers/stakeholders.
- Undertake due diligence research analysis and interpretation of relevant information.
Requirements
Essential:
- A graduate with a degree in business, finance, accountancy or other related disciplines. Additional post-graduate CISI Diploma, CFA equivalent and ongoing CPD also welcomed.
- Excellent numerical, verbal and written communication skills.
- Skilled practitioner of Microsoft Office applications and financial information provider systems (IRESS/Bloomberg or equivalent).
- Experience of how the City and financial markets work.
- Ability to help write and analyse companies and understand/interpret financial statements.
Desirable:
- No less than 2-3 years’ relevant experience be it in investment research/corporate broking or corporate finance/investment management or similar role.
- Able to prioritise, work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
