Main Accountabilities:
- Supporting the investment team, helping to identify new investment opportunities.
- Undertaking analysis of new business opportunities, including due diligence and contributing to the production of investment reports to be presented to Maven’s Investment Committee.
- Providing assistance to investment managers and directors throughout the deal process after presentation of the initial investment paper to deal completion, including on occasions working with the office support team to ensure that compliance aspects of the deal are captured and managed.
- Start to take lead role on NPIF transactions, with support from investment managers and / or directors. Maintain balance when leading / taking responsibility but at the same time obtaining adequate support from other team members.
- Assisting in portfolio management of investee business to assist with business growth, including analysis of management accounts and board packs and accompanying the Investment Mangers/Directors to Board meetings.
Requirements
Technical skills, knowledge and expertise
- Time management - can demonstrate excellent planning and organising skills to work to and meet deadlines
- Quality of information - produces accurate and timely reports, methodical and pays attention to detail
- Analytical – enjoys working with data to spot trends and understand when to follow up on them.
- Business knowledge – understands the commercial parameters that businesses operate within and adopt a professional approach to dealing with potential investee companies
- Customer orientation – professional and courteous to colleagues and investee businesses
- Team Working – works well within a team environment to contribute to achieving targets
- Exhibits ability to solve problems using commercial acumen
- Relevant investment qualification such as IMC / CFA
- Advanced Excel skills
Experience and qualifications
- Degree in relevant business or financial discipline
- Professional Investment qualifications
