    About the Role

    We have a range of internship opportunities available for those with an interest in Construction Management, Commercial Management, Design, Engineering, Health & Safety, and the Environment.

    The 10-week summer internship programme will run between 27th June to 2nd September 2022.

    McCarthy Stone’s internship programme will provide you with the opportunity to gain first class industry experience while earning a competitive salary. Taking part in our intern programme will enable you to add practical experience to your CV and will ensure you have a deep understanding of our business, and how we operate.

    You will be supporting the Leaders of our Technical Services team providing support across the whole Development process in the following fields depending on your area of focus – Design, Commercial & Procurement, Building Technology & Services and Health, Safety, Quality & Environment. McCarthy Stone are currently delivering a pipeline of over 40 projects on site and even more in design development. You will be involved in supporting the delivery of a range of services across this broad portfolio of projects and helping us drive our sustainability agenda.

    Alongside your role, you will be part of a cohort of interns that will enable you to start building your professional network. There will also be Learning and Development opportunities to get involved with throughout your internship with us including insight and skills sessions and ‘lunch and learns‘ on key business topics.

    About You

    Education and Qualifications

    • Studying towards a degree or other further education course in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Architecture, Architectural Technology, Architectural Design, Engineering or Environmental studies, on target for a minimum of a 2:2
    • 3 x A Levels
    • GCSE’s in English and Maths

    Personal Attributes

    • Interested in a career in Construction Management, Commercial Management, Design, Engineering or Health & Safety, and the Environment.
    • Organised and works well to deadlines.
    • Able to multitask and prioritise.
    • Communicates clearly, both written and verbally.
    • Shows a good level of attention to detail.
    • Works well within a team, but equally on their own.
    • Good at building working relationships
    • Has a flexible, positive, and can-do attitude
    • Computer literate and has experience in Microsoft Office software.
    • Full UK driving licence with access to a car is preferable but travel expenses will be provided when travelling to other offices / locations.
