Energy Insights, a specialist data and analytics unit, provides distinctive analysis, insights, and support to energy players. We offer services on strategy, company diagnostics, energy transition and sustainability topics.
Energy Insights’ dedicated specialists apply proprietary tools and methodologies and a data-driven approach. With our strong ties to McKinsey’s energy consulting practice and access to the expertise of the wider McKinsey network, you will assist our team in research and analysis that yields knowledge available nowhere else.
What you'll do
You will help drive our knowledge agenda relating to natural gas, LNG, and low/zero carbon gases, including the hydrogen and biogas markets.
In this role, you will work in partnership with your manager, Energy Insights leadership, and a range of colleagues within the wider firm to solve problems on a daily basis. You will update our energy insights perspectives periodically with the help of the broader Energy Insights team and our suite of assets and tools. Your focus will be on the gas, LNG and low/zero carbon gases sector, and how these players are responding to changing market conditions (e.g., energy transition and decarbonization). You will also collaborate with McKinsey colleagues from other industries to validate research hypotheses.
Initially, you will focus on researching market developments for gas, LNG and low/zero carbon gases in supply, demand, infrastructure and costs, together with building and developing market balancing price solutions and models. Over time, you will deepen your global energy markets expertise and become the go-to person in your content area for fellow colleagues as well as clients. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of your area and to help create new and more detailed projections.
