    We have an exciting opportunity for an undergraduate to join our Transport and Logistics team within McLaren Racing for a period of 12 months in summer 2024. This placement will see you contribute to our performance and provide a unique opportunity to build on your knowledge.

    Purpose of the Role

    • An educational opportunity for you to join the Coordination team in practically assisting and continually improving the workflow within a busy fast paced World Championship Level motorsport logistics environment.
    • You will apply your analytical skills in improving the functionality of the Coordination team.
    • You will learn how function managers engage their teams to realise their full potential.

    Principal Accountabilities

    • Collaboration with Coordinator EU to assist in how all vehicles and personnel are scheduled appropriately to support key event dates in the Formula One, Test Previous Car (TPC) and Heritage calendars.
    • Collaboration with Coordinator UK to assist in Co-ordination and management of the UK & EU van driving operation supporting key event dates in the Formula One, TPC and Heritage calendars.
    • Collaboration with Coordinator Fleet to assist in the provision of administrative support to the Transport Management team including the day-to-day office, driver and vehicle operation supporting key event dates in the Formula One, TPC and Heritage calendars.
    • Placement in Race Team Logistics (RTL) to understand how the Transport function serves the need of RTL.
    • You will use your excellent data analytical skills to recognise areas of improvement by diving deep into mapping processes and problems.
    • You will offer and test potential solutions, implementing the best ones.

    Job requirements

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

    • You are currently working towards a 2+ year university degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Production, Engineering, Business Management, or similar discipline.
    • You are results-driven with analytical skills and the desire to innovate and simplify current process and practices.
    • You should have strong decision-making skills and use sound logic to communicate.
    • You can demonstrate curiosity and pro-activity, which will allow you to gain greater autonomy in the course of the internship and make the most of your time with us to fully achieve your learning and development goals.

    • If shortlisted to the final stage, you will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre on 12th December at the McLaren Technology Centre in Woking, Surrey.
