    Role description

    Technical writers produce the documentation that empowers our customers around the world to achieve more with our software solutions.  Working in our Azure for Operators team you will work closely with our engineering and support teams in a friendly, supportive work environment to produce clear and concise, but technically complex, documentation for an audience primarily comprising experienced telecoms professionals.

    You will collaborate with our other writers and, over time, will take primary responsibility for solution areas. Our documentation work is varied and includes engineering and end-user documents, embedded help, API documentation and training manuals.

    Responsibilities

    • Quickly learn about new technologies, via engineering documentation and discussions with subject matter experts. 
    • Analyse technical and customer requirements to determine documentation content and format. 
    • Create technical documentation that is customer-focussed and conveys key information clearly and concisely via text and graphics to educate customers (both external and internal). 
    • Seek feedback and apply internal or industry best practices to improve your writing. 
    • Demonstrate skill in time management, working with cross-functional stakeholders and completing projects in a cooperative team environment. 

    Qualifications

    Basic Qualifications

    • Pursuing or have recently completed a bachelor's or master's degree, in any discipline. 
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively in a professional voice that is tuned to different audiences. 
    • An aptitude for understanding and explaining complex technical concepts. 
    • Curiosity and a desire to learn about technology and to share that knowledge with others. 
    • Strong attention to detail.
