The successful candidate will become part of a dynamic and forward-thinking business that aims to develop pragmatic solutions that save money for our clients.

The Role
The role will encompass the production of CAD drawings to support in the delivery of engineering projects and site visits for surveys / inspections. The current workload is predominantly within the rail sector comprising a variety of general civils, structural, bridges, earthwork, geotechnical and temporary works designs.
The role is open to a technician looking to do an apprenticeship or having recently completed a suitable apprenticeship and looking to continue through a HNC. If not already completed the candidate would be enrolled on the Engineering Design Draughtsperson course at York College Engineering Design Draughtsperson… | York College & University Centre. This is a day release term time course with a full time Apprentice Salary and support required to complete provided by MHB senior CAD technicians.
The Candidate
Essential
- Use of AutoCAD/Micro Station software for the preparation of engineering drawings, knowledge of blocks, layering and 2D drafting.
- Some experience / knowledge working with 3D data Topographical Surveys.
- Attention to detail.
- Have the ability to work as part of a dedicated team.
- Be self-motivated, diligent and have good time management skills.
- Good numeracy and computer skills.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
Advantageous
- Knowledge of engineering principles / construction methods.
- Use of other software applications, such as MicroStation or Revit.
- Knowledge of BIM an advantage but not essential.
Qualifications
- If completed apprenticeship -NVQ level 3 and BTec in an engineering / draughting course
- If applying for Apprenticeship – 5 GSCEs grade 4 or above with Maths Grade 5 or above
