    The Micro:bit Educational Foundation is looking for a driven and enthusiastic Project Coordinator to coordinate and deliver exciting projects with the Education and Technology teams within the Foundation.

    About the role

    This role will work on the coordination of projects for the Education and Technology teams, primarily projects that work to produce and update the Foundation’s core product offering to support teachers and educators globally.

    This includes managing the holistic delivery of education products built by the engineering team, such as our Python editor (python.microbit.org) the micro:bit website at microbit.org and the micro:bit classroom tool, classroom.microbit.org. The role holder will be responsible for ensuring education and technical objectives and deliverables are met and managed in harmony, ensuring the best experience for our audience.

    The role holder will be part of a small projects management team that supports multiple Foundation projects.

    The Project Team ensures all aspects of the projects are organised and deliverables are met. The tasks include preparing project plans, monitoring and reporting on these plans, maintaining appropriate databases and records, supporting project meeting and workshops. The role holder will also carry out financial administration for the projects, using Excel and the Foundation project management system (monday.com). Prior experience using project management tools will be beneficial.

    While working across the projects, the role holder will be interacting with a wide range of teams within the Foundation and beyond. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills as well as diplomacy will therefore be essential. Experience working in a Education environment and Technology project experience would be helpful.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, friendly disposition and be an enthusiastic team player. You are adept at managing both internal and external relationships, an excellent organiser and communicator with a flexible can do attitude.

    Key responsibilities and activities

    • Coordinate work for the Education and Technology teams across multiple projects. Planning the work with project team and monitor the execution.
    • Getting involved with micro:bit Product delivery projects, with input from Education and Technology team and across the Foundation.
    • Ensuring Foundation project management tools (budget, schedule, risk assessment) are delivered and appropriate team members are up to speed on project progress or requirements.
    • Support the Education team to plan the team production work in Monday.com, ensure the team members have a clear view of their tasks, timeline and dependences. And assist the regular work progress review meetings.
    • Coordinate project works to support the Editorial processes in the Education team.
    • Coordinate stakeholders internal and external such as Product Owner, Developer, Editor, Designer
    • Track tasks for technical projects on GitHub and make sure project status is represented back to the wider team
    • Liaising with external partners and contractors, who will contribute on the project delivery
    • Taking ownership of project administration, including project paperwork, budget management, data entry, documentation, and other ad hoc tasks
    • Schedule project meetings (F2F / Zoom) and take notes as required
