    Job Description

    Reporting to the Assembly and Test Engineering Manager, you will be an important member of our multi-skilled Test Engineering Support Team. You will support existing products and will assist in the introduction of the companies next generation electronic modules into production. Working in a supportive, cross functional team environment, you will work on leading edge technologies to manufacture Medical, Security, High-Power and other high reliability electronic modules in a clean, flexible facility.

    Microchip's Caldicot site is responsible for designing and delivering the next generation of advanced electronic module solutions for global technology markets. Our markets include medical applications, automotive, aerospace and renewable energy.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Work on new projects which includes Test Development, Robotics, and Automation.
    • Support in-house training programmes as required.
    • Be capable of setting up the test equipment by correctly following process instructions in an efficient and productive manner.
    • Be capable of fault finding and troubleshooting on Test Systems.
    • Support Manufacturing to ensure that production schedules, plans and customer deliveries are consistently achieved.
    • Be active in any yield optimisation and continual improvement activities.
    • Assist in identifying training needs of others.
    • Have full knowledge of and understand the product quality standards relevant to the work area and ensure that all work produced conforms to these standards.
    • Take on other engineering duties as required and assigned.

    Requirements/Qualifications

    • A degree in Electronic or Mechatronic Engineering.
    • Self-motivating, proactive and results driven approach.
    • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills.
    • Able to work to deadlines with good quality.
    • Can prioritise and organise work to deliver to agreed deadlines.
    • Work in a clean room environment.
    • Ensure when carrying out any job function that it is done in accordance with all Health & Safety rules and regulations.
    • Be PC literate including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word with the ability to produce reports and working instructions using these tools.
    • Demonstrate a flexible attitude, being prepared to work in any department on a variety of shift patterns where skills and business needs dictate.
    • Experienced in the use of meters, Oscilloscopes, network analyzers and their limitations.
    • Ideally have experience in a programming Language such as Visual Basic and C.
