    Microsoft Research, Health Futures (UK), is inviting applications for a unique AI Residency position to work at the exciting intersection of Generative AI and Life Sciences.

    As a resident, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team, working alongside world-class researchers and engineers to develop cutting-edge AI solutions for complex biological problems.

    This position is a part of our two-year residency program and provides a unique opportunity to conduct groundbreaking research, which can transform lives and improve healthcare outcomes globally.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct innovative research in generative AI within the context of Life Sciences.
    • Design, implement, and evaluate AI models to gain insights from complex biological data.
    • Collaborate with a team of ML researchers, engineers, and biologists to translate research findings into practical biological insights.
    • Share your findings through publications, presentations, and blog posts.
    • Contribute to team strategy and foster a culture of growth, innovation, and research excellence.

    Required qualifications

    • PhD degree (or nearing completion) in Computer Science, Life Sciences, AI, or a related field.
    • Strong communication and presentation skills.
    • Experience in generative AI and its application in biological data.
    • Passion for improving healthcare and making a positive impact on patient outcomes.
    • Proficiency in deep learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow) and software engineering best practices.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a diverse and dynamic environment.
