At Millennium, our portfolio managers have developed industry expertise, as well as a solid understanding of the market’s perception and valuation of companies under their coverage. The Trading team is a core member of the Execution Services group and seeks to implement these trading ideas in the most efficient/effective manner. The team utilizes a wide set of proprietary in-house and external tools to facilitate best execution across various global markets while maintaining an array of trading and execution relationships.
The intern will complete a rotation across the Execution Services desks over the 10 week programme. The role will enable the individual to gain an understanding of various execution strategies whilst gaining exposure to other roles within a hedge fund through firm-wide speaker series. The intern will be responsible for ad hoc daily tasks as well as projects within their respective team. The role will require the ability to multi-task and handle tight deadlines.
Job Responsibilities
- Exposure to our long established network of brokers
- Gain an understanding of electronic trading algorithms in addition to the fundamentals of trading via shadowing various traders on the desk
- Insight into the various execution strategies and styles
- Gain exposure to the trading of various asset classes including equities, currencies, derivatives and commodities
Requirements for our programme
- Students in their penultimate year who are interested in a future career at a top-tier alternative asset financial services firm
- Minimum of 2:1 grade or higher
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong oral and written communication skills
