    As a Finance Trainee within our finance team, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operational finance activities for the business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to develop their finance career in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on supporting the operational side of the business, including construction project finance, cost tracking, and financial reporting.

    Key responsibilities

    • Data Entry and Analysis: Assist in maintaining financial records for the regional business, including calculation and posting of standard monthly journal entries, along with the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Supporting Financial Reporting: Prepare and assist in the preparation of finance reports for the regional and head office management teams.
    • Compliance and Audit: Assist with ensuring that all financial operations are in compliance with internal policies and external regulations and support internal/external audits when required. Payment to suppliers through various methods, ensuring agreed payment terms are met.
    • Assist with operational finance: Support the finance team in managing the operational finance processes, including sales and production reporting.

    Skills, knowledge and expertise

    • Educational Background: A relevant degree or equivalent qualification in finance, accounting, or a related field (or currently studying towards a finance qualification).
    • Strong Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse financial data, identify trends, and make recommendations based on findings.
    • Attention to Detail: A high level of accuracy in data entry, reporting, and financial analysis.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Strong working knowledge of Excel, including the ability to create and maintain spreadsheets, as well as use formulas for financial analysis.
    • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including suppliers and contractors.
    • Time Management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
    • Team Player: Collaborative, willing to work as part of a team and share knowledge
