    We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, curious Account Executive to join our specialist Local media team within Connections Planning.

    This role in Local is unique and offers a great insight into the full matrix of marketing communications including client relationships, strategic thinking, cross channel planning, media buying, specialist teams, agency partners and measurement.You will get a great grounding in planning and buying local print, mags, OOH, digital display, digital audio, radio, and doordrops.

    You will be supporting the local team across clients such as M&S, TJX (TK Maxx and Homesense), and Rolex. M&S and TJX are two of our long-standing core clients in the Local team; TJX are the umbrella company of the much–loved high street brands TK Maxx and Homesense.

    On a day-to-day basis, you will be supporting the team across both M&S and TJX in shaping and creating successful campaigns for new store openings, relocations and renewals. We work closely with the Connections Planning team for these accounts, as well as key suppliers/media owners and the clients themselves.

    Working on Rolex/Tudor you will be helping to plan luxury print campaigns across a range of the Rolex and Tudor retailers such as Watches of Switzerland Group, Beaverbrooks, and Emson Haig, working closely with the Rolex local lead and the internal planning team.

    About the role

    We are a team of local experts, who pull together highly detailed cross-channel media plans for our clients, for specific locations across the UK. We operate as both a planning team and a buying team, so you will learn a broad range of skills across multiple disciplines, making this is a great role to start your career in media! A keen eye for detail and a high level of accuracy is a must, as we dig down to very granular detail and data within every part of a plan.

    We work with our clients from briefing stage to end of campaign reporting, so you will have a holistic view of the entire process. You’ll have client exposure and will be contributing to meetings and proposal presentations direct with our clients.

    Outside of our core clients we can also be used as a specialist buying team for local media for any other client within Mindshare’s roster, so you will also get experience to different planning teams and clients such as Warburtons, Yorkshire Building Society and BP.

    The bulk of your time will be spent investigating store areas and identifying local media opportunities within them, as well as booking campaigns with media owners, aiding in our finance processes and proactively supporting the rest of the team to ensure we are providing the highest quality service to our clients. You will get trained in a number of planning tools such as Mediatel, JICREG, Experian and J-ET.

    About you

    Prior media/marketing experience is not a pre-requisite. A combination of “hands-on” experience and a structured training programme means Account Executives gain a comprehensive knowledge of how a media agency business operates and an understanding that is the cornerstone of a successful career in the media industry.
