    About the role

    You will help ensure the platforms and equipment we deliver to the military are available and safe to operate by providing engineering support and assurance on all activities related to either electrical power and distribution or sensors and electronic systems.

    You will be assigned to one of our following operating centres:

    • Land Equipment - covering a hugely diverse portfolio of Land Equipment projects including Armoured Fighting Vehicles, Main Battle Tanks, Artillery Fires Systems and Multi Launch Rocket Systems.
    • Integrated Battlespace (IBOC) – IBOC has a diverse portfolio including communications, networks, radars, Electronic Warfare (EW) - including Electronic Countermeasures (ECM), Electronic Surveillance (ES) and Electronic Attack (EA), Chemical Biological Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN), and Air Traffic Management (ATM) equipment.

    Due to the nature of security requirements, these roles are open to sole UK nationals only and you may be required to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in the post. There will be the potential for domestic travel to other UK sites and international travel.

    Responsibilities

    • Attending equipment trials and assessing trials data to ensure the equipment meets the user requirements specification
    • Produce technical requirements at product and sub-system levels
    • Develop electrical/electronic engineering design solutions for a variety of different platforms across the full engineering life cycle
    • Audit of engineering calculations, analysis and integration
    • Provide assurance that the design conforms to the relevant engineering and build standards, and contractual requirements

    Person specification

    To be successful with your application, you'll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:

    • Hold a HNC (i.e., Level 4 or higher) qualification in a relevant field, or have the equivalent experience
    • Experience working with other teams and a variety of stakeholders
    • Experience in electrical and/or electronics engineering

    In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
